Athletistic / Hockey. The Washington Capitals took a willing victory in last night’s home game against the Calgary Flames. The Capitals beat the Ogonki in a shootout (3:2 B), regaining a two-goal deficit in regulation time.

Note that Washington captain Alexander Ovechkin once again found himself without performance points. The 38-year-old Russian failed to score in his second meeting since the start of the season. This is the third time in Ovechkin’s career that he has gone without a goal or assist in the first two games of the NHL season.

In the 2022/2023 season, the Big Eight did not score points in the first two matches, but then scored in the third meeting of the season. And in the 2016/2017 season, Ovi also went without scoring points in the first two matches, but also scored points in the third meeting.

Washington will play its next game on the evening of October 19, when it visits the Ottawa Senators.
