President of the FHR Vladislav Tretiak spoke to about expanding the geography of the traditional hockey tournament, which takes place in December.
The December tournament has traditionally been held in Moscow since 1967. From 1996 to 2021, it was a stop on the Euro Hockey Tour. Last year, the Belarusian team won the tournament. This year the competition will take place in St. Petersburg.
— Our main task is to expand the geography of the December home tournament. Next year we can organize this tournament somewhere in Omsk or Novosibirsk.
— Will the Russian national team play on the new twenty thousand, currently being completed in St. Petersburg?
– No, the tournament will take place in the old palace (Ice Palace, where SKA plays). Because the new arena is not yet ready. Not all documents have been approved yet,” Tretyak told .
