Fans hailed Sorokin’s batting save as the NHL’s best of the season

Save the Russian Guardian”New York Islanders » Ilya Sorokin recognized as the best of the NHL-2021/22 season according to fans, reports the league’s press service.

The Islanders defeated the New York Rangers 2-1 on March 17 in a regular season game. In the first period, the Russian saved the gate, hitting the puck with a stick on the drop after Artemy Panarin shot from a sharp angle.

In other categories, they won: best goal – Colorado defenseman Cale Makar, best assist – Anaheim forward Trevor Zegras, best beard – Florida forward Joe Thornton.

Last season, Sorokin played 52 games in the regular season, won 26, kept the gate intact seven times.
