Washington forward Alexander Ovechkin talked about his streak without a shot on target in NHL games.
Washington forward Alexander Ovechkin has gone two straight games without a shot on target for the first time in his NHL career. In the meeting with Ottawa (1:6), Ovechkin’s official statistics showed 0 shots. Earlier, Ovechkin also failed to have a shot on target in a victory against Calgary (3:2 B).
“We have to find a way to score goals.” Now it’s not so easy for us, but it’s all up to us. We understand the system of play, we have to create chances in the attacking zone. “I can’t say that I am satisfied with my game,” Ovechkin told the Washington press service.
In the last two matches, Ovechkin took shots on goal, but 7 of his shots were blocked by the opposing defense and were not included in the statistics. It was also only the third time in his career that Ovechkin failed to score in his first three games of the season. Currently, he has scored 1 (0+1) point for an assist in the game against Ottawa.
