Toronto coach criticized goaltender Samsonov after Kucherov goals

Toronto head coach Sheldon Keefe criticized the Russian goaltender Ilya Samsonova after the match against Tampa, during this meeting, Samsonov missed two goals from Nikita Kucherov in the first period.

Tampa lost at home in overtime to Toronto with a score of 3:4 in an NHL regular season game. Ilya Samsonov was replaced 14 minutes into the first period after allowing three goals on four shots on his own goal. Nikita Kucherov scored two goals for Samsonov and Alex Barre-Boulet scored another off Kucherov’s pass.

— As for Samsonov, we can’t concede three goals after four shots. That’s it,” journalist Mark Masters quoted Sheldon Keefe as saying.

Joseph Wall, who replaced Samsonov, did not miss a single goal and brought the guests a voluntary victory.
