The most valuable player in the NHL last season was out for a week or two due to injury.

Before “Edmonton Oilers » Connor McDavid will be out one to two weeks with an upper-body injury, according to the NHL website.

Edmonton lost at home to Winnipeg in overtime on Saturday with a score of 2:3. McDavid, who had two assists, was off the ice late in the third period and into overtime. In five games this season, the Canadian has scored two goals and assisted his teammates six times.

According to Oilers head coach Jay Woodcroft, McDavid is suffering from a muscle injury.
