Athletistic / Hockey. The management of the Nizhny Novgorod “Torpedo” turned to the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) with a proposal to hold a regular season home match at the Nizhny Novgorod football stadium in January.
“The Nizhny Novgorod club approached the league with an offer to hold the match at the football stadium on January 7,” the TASS agency said in a statement.
It is planned that the Nizhny Novgorod Arena stadium will also host an MHL match with the participation of Chaika, the current holder of the Kharlamov Cup.
Note that on January 7, Orthodox Christmas Day, Torpedo will host Dynamo Minsk.
The Nizhny Novgorod Arena stadium was built especially for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. During this World Cup, the arena hosted six tournament matches, including the France – Uruguay quarter-finals (2:0). The arena is home to the Paris NN club and its official capacity is 44,899 people.
