Athletistic/Hockey. Russian hockey player Alexander Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals team is about to repeat his anti-record for a series of games without scoring a goal in the NHL.

As NHL Network reports on its X account (formerly Twitter), the captain of the capital team’s personal worst record was 10 matches without scoring a goal. Ovechkin set this anti-record between February and March 2017.

For the moment, the Russian striker has already gone nine matches without scoring a goal. This series includes matches from last season, so it continues from April. This season, Washington has played four games, and in all of them, Ovechkin left the ice without scoring a goal.

In addition, this striker had already gone nine matches without scoring a goal on two occasions: from October to November 2008 and from November to December 2010.

In the next match, the capital will meet the Toronto Maple Leafs in its home arena. The match is scheduled for the night of October 24-25 and will begin at 1:00 Moscow time.
