goalkeeper coach “Sharks of San Jose” Yevgeny Nabokov will continue to work at the club after the dismissal of Bob Bugner as head coach. This was announced by the team’s interim general manager, Joe Will.
The dismissal of the 51-year-old specialist became known on July 1. Assistants John Madden and John McLean left the team.
“Nabokov plays a vital role in both NHL-level coaching and the development of the club’s goaltending system, and he will continue to do so,” Will said as quoted by The Athletic.
Bugner became the team’s interim head coach in December 2019 and was confirmed in September 2020. In the 2021/22 season, the team was left out of the playoffs.
