Ovechkin opened up about his record NHL goalless streak

Attack Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin spoke of the defeat of Montreal Canadiens (2:3 OT), and also spoke about his attitude to the scoreless streak, which already totals four matches.

– I think it was our best game this season. We lost, but we created chances throughout the three periods. It was a good game for Washington. Sometimes the team makes mistakes, but now we are in a different situation where we are still learning. It will be a long process.

Series without a scored goal? I’m trying to get out of this situation (Laughs). “I have to do my job and show everything I am capable of,” Ovechkin was quoted as saying by the club’s press service.

For the second time in his career, Ovechkin failed to score in the first four games of the NHL regular season. The first time this happened was in the 2012/2013 season. After a goal drought that season, Ovechkin scored 32 goals in 48 regular season games.
