Athletistic / Hockey. Deputy General Director of the Russian Hockey Federation (RHF) Alexander Kiknadze spoke about negotiations with the International Roller Hockey Federation (IIHF) on the issue of admitting youth and junior teams to international competitions.
“The FHR is in working contact with the IIHF and we interact on a number of issues. In September, we participated virtually in the IIHF Congress. We sent a letter with a request to offer the country’s under-16 team the opportunity “We received a refusal. After that, we sent a corresponding application for the participation of the national under-18 team in the World Cup. We are still waiting for a response,” RT quotes Kiknadze.
In March 2022, the IIHF suspended the Russian national ice hockey team from participating in international tournaments. This spring, the international federation decided to extend the suspension for the entire 2023/2024 season, including for the 2024 World Championships in the Czech Republic.
