Former striker for Spartak Moscow and SKA Saint Petersburg Maxime Rybine answered the question of how many games the Russian forward of the Washington Capitals will need Alexander Ovechkin to beat Canadian Wayne Gretzky’s record and become the best sniper in NHL history.
Ovechkin, who turned 38 in September, has scored 824 career NHL goals in the regular season. The Russian ranks second on the list of best snipers in league history, behind Wayne Gretzky’s 70 goals (894).
“Sooner or later there will be a record.” Let’s be honest: that’s unlikely to happen this season, after all, Alexander needs to score 70 goals, and he’s not getting any younger.
Someone writes about gradually decreasing their throws and the health issue starts to become more and more important. But we can say with confidence that next season Ovechkin will be able to achieve his goal, ”Rybin said according to RT.
