Goal of the Russian striker “Washington” Alexandra Ovechkina against Minnesota was called off for offside.
“Washington” meets “Minnesota” at home on Saturday night in an NHL regular season game. Ovechkin scored the puck against Marc-André Fleury in the middle of the second period with the score 2:1. After viewing the video, the goal was not counted due to an offside position.
Ovechkin, who turned 38 in September, has scored 824 career NHL goals in the regular season. The Russian ranks second on the list of best snipers in league history, behind Wayne Gretzky’s 70 goals (894).
