Panarin sets Rangers record for most hitting streaks in the 21st century

The Russian attackerNew York Rangers » Artemy Panarin became the author of the club’s longest goal streak in the current century.

In the NHL regular season game against Winnipeg (3:2 OT), Panarin scored 3 points (1+2) and earned points for his performance in the ninth consecutive meeting – since the start of the season, he never left the ice without making an impact. No Rangers player has ever achieved this goal in the 21st century.

The previous record of 8 consecutive games with points in a Rangers uniform was held by Marian Gaborik during the 2009-10 season.

Panarin’s streak also enters the top 5 in the entire history of the New York club. The absolute record belongs to Rod Gilbert (14 matches during the 1972/73 season).
