The tournament will take place in Hungary on November 9-11
Ukrainian national hockey team for the second year in a row will take part in Tomasz Sarkozy memorial – hockey tournament, which will be hosted by the Hungarian Budapest.
The schedule includes three matches that our national team will play from November 9 to 11. The Ukrainians’ rivals will be the national teams of Hungary, Slovenia and Italy. They all play in the 1A division.
With these matches, the new head coach Dmitry Khristich will make his debut at the head of the Ukrainian national team, who was appointed to this position on October 16 instead of the previously fired Vadim Shakhraichuk.
Let us remember that a year ago the Ukrainian team won the bronze medals at the Tomasz Szarkozy Memorial, beating Hungary in the match for third place.
The Ukrainian national hockey team plays in division IB. In 2024, the blue-yellows will play against Estonia, China, the Netherlands, Lithuania and Spain in the world championship.
In addition, the blue-yellows will start qualifying for the 2026 Olympic Games in February next year. Two of our team’s three opponents in Group J of the third round are already known – the national teams of South Korea and Poland.
