Former Sochi defender Nikita Shchitov positively assessed the decision of Magnitogorsk Metallurg to appoint Sergei Moziakine to the technical staff.
Tuesday “Metallurgist” announced that Mozyakin became an assistant to head coach Andrei Razin. The club noted that the function of development director, which was Mozyakin’s responsibility, will be temporarily taken over by club director Alexei Zhloba.
– I think it’s a good decision. People like Mozyakin should help hockey and especially Metallurg. A man with vast experience has dedicated so many years to the team. His knowledge should not be wasted. Andrey Razin is a good specialist, he will help Mozyakin get to the coaching position, get acquainted with all its nuances and reveal himself as a novice coach. It’s a good meeting for our hockey and Magnitogorsk. It’s great that Sergei agreed. Before that, he held a different position. I think the coaching position will be closer to him. It’s great that the KHL makes us happy with such events, ”Shchitov quotes RB Sport.
Mozyakin played for Magnitogorsk as a player from 2011 to 2021. He holds the KHL and national championship record in points scored.
