Canadian striker from Siberia Andy Andreoff compared the Novosibirsk club to the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League (NHL).
The 32-year-old forward played for the Islanders from 2021 to 2023. In July, he signed a one-year contract with Siberia.
— Can you compare Siberia’s style to that of any NHL team?
— Here, hockey is a little different, more defensive, in the middle zone there are often two or three players who meet you. In this sense, my last two years in the Islanders system were typical both for the KHL and somewhere in Siberia,” Metaratings.ru quotes Andreoff.
This season, Andreoff played 32 games in the Fonbet KHL Championship and scored 7 points (5+2).
