Russian goaltender for the New York Islanders Semyon Varlamov commented on his achievements in the NHL.
Varlamov played the 40th shutout of his NHL career. The New York Islanders beat Washington 3-0 on the road Friday night. Ryan Palock, Simon Holmström and Brock Nelson scored goals for the winners. Varlamov kept a clean sheet for the second time this season, stopping 32 shots. The clean sheet was Varlamov’s second in a row in the NHL.
– I am very happy. I can not believe it. Now I feel good about the goal. I only played three matches. This is just the beginning. It’s a very long season. “I just have to keep playing well,” Varlamov said, as quoted by the NHL’s official website.
