Athletistic/Hockey. Russian national hockey team head coach Alexei Zhamnov believes it is wrong to discuss the situation with the possible drafting of Russian national team goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov into the army in lack of reliable information about what happened.
“The situation is in limbo, and now it would be a mistake to discuss this topic. Not a single publication has truthful information from its sources. nobody at the top,” says Zhamnov.
Ivan Fedotov was arrested on July 1 in Saint Petersburg on suspicion of having escaped military service. The hockey player was taken to the military registration and enlistment office of Zagorodny Prospekt in St. Petersburg. On July 3, it became known that Fedotov had been sent to the city of Severomorsk in the Murmansk region and, presumably, would serve in the Novaya Zemlya archipelago in the Arctic Ocean.
On June 30, Fedotov’s contract with CSKA Moscow expired. In May, it became known that the Russian signed a contract with the Philadelphia Flyers NHL club.
