Defenseman of the Russian youth hockey team Artem Kudashov told that the match against Kazakhstan was one of the best in his career, but recalled that he managed to win earlier and with a higher score.
On Friday, the Russian U20 national team defeated their counterparts from Kazakhstan with a score of 12:1 in the Future Betting League hockey match, which takes place in St. Petersburg.
— When you went to the match, did you have in mind the result with such a big score?
— We played against the Kazakhstan national team last season, so I was still playing for the younger age group. The score was also devastating. Now Kazakhstan entered the youth team and became stronger, but we once again managed to win with a big score.
— At what point in the game did you realize that the game belonged to you?
— After the first period, we felt courageous, the pucks were flying.
— Is this the biggest winning score of your career?
— There was a match at conscious age, where they scored 19 goals. But this one is one of the best.
— Will a brilliant early victory give you confidence for the remaining matches of the tournament?
– On the one hand, yes. On the other hand, it can make a cruel joke. Tomorrow we face a strong opponent who has just beaten our second team. You will have to tune in and try to win,” Kudashov told .
On Saturday, the Russian team will play the second match of the tournament against the youth team of Belarus.
