“The FHR should have foreseen this.” Journalist Vaitsekhovskaya – about the situation with goalkeeper Fedotov

Olympic diving champion, RT journalist Elena Vaytsekhovskaya discussed the situation with the goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov .

On Friday July 1, 25-year-old Fedotov was arrested in St. Petersburg on suspicion of escaping military service. The hockey player requested medical assistance at the assembly point of the military registration and enlistment office, after which he was taken to Botkin Infectious Diseases Hospital. Then the player was sent for further examination to the military medical academy and then to the naval hospital. Later, Fedotov’s lawyer Alexei Ponomarev reported that his client had an exacerbation of gastritis against the background of a nervous breakdown.

– I’m just looking at the purely sports part of the plot: if the leadership of the Russian Hockey Federation is interested in Fedotov playing at the gates of the national team, then people were simply obliged to foresee such a situation and to prevent it. Especially people whose entire sports life was spent at one time in the army club. In other words, it’s their doorframe, and grand. And the case itself, apart from the personalities, is far from the first and not the last, I suppose.

They love their work, are proud of it, are the glory of the profession. In the whole situation that is now unfolding before our eyes around Vanya Fedotov, I cannot understand one thing: how those government officials who implemented a fairly ordinary operation with the call of a person for service generally allowed the North Sea Fleet to suddenly find itself in the minds of a large number of people has become synonymous with punishment, a place of exile and, in general, the epitome of something vile and illegal,” Vaitsekhovskaya said.

On the evening of July 4, it became known that the Russian Hockey Federation had sent a request to state authorities in the Fedotov case.
