FHR turned to state authorities for details of Fedotov case

The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (FHR) has called on government agencies to clarify the details of the goalkeeper’s case Ivan Fedotov . This was announced by the president of the federation Vladislav Tretiak .

– The Russian Hockey Federation is monitoring the situation of Russian national team goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov regarding his military service. The FHR has turned to state authorities for details of the case,” Tretyak was quoted as saying by the FHR press service.

On Friday July 1, 25-year-old Fedotov was arrested in St. Petersburg on suspicion of escaping military service. The hockey player requested medical assistance at the assembly point of the military registration and enlistment office, after which he was taken to Botkin Infectious Diseases Hospital. Then the player was sent for further examination to the military medical academy and then to the naval hospital. Later, Fedotov’s lawyer Alexei Ponomarev reported that his client had an exacerbation of gastritis against the background of a nervous breakdown.
