Athletistic / Hockey. Columbus Blue Jackets forward Dmitry Voronkov participated in last night’s NHL regular season game against the Florida Panthers (4:5 in overtime). The 23-year-old Russian participated in his second championship fight.
At the start of the third period the score was tied – 3:3. At one point, Voronkov threw down his gloves and got into a fight with Florida forward Kevin Stenlund. The Swede didn’t like the fact that Columbus prospect Adam Fantilli performed a brutal power move on Carter Verage and tried to teach the young man a lesson, but Voronkov defended him.
The fight did not last long, as the Russian quickly threw Stenlund to the ice. As a result, both players received two minutes from the judges for rudeness, and the Swede got two more minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Dmitry Voronkov played six games this season in the NHL and scored 4 (2+2) points for his performance. In Russia he played for Ak Bars Kazan.
