Forward Evgeny Kuznetsov scored twice for Washington (he scored one of his goals into an empty net). Nicolas Aube-Kubel and Bec Malensteen also added a puck each. Timo Maier and Dawson Mercer scored for the Devils.
The captain of the capital, Alexander Ovechkin, spent 21 minutes 19 seconds on the ice, scored an assist and finished the match with a score of “+1”.
Washington has scored 14 points in 12 games and sits in 10th place in the NHL Eastern Conference standings. “New Jersey” with 15 points after 13 matches is eighth in the East.
