Swedish striker “Anaheim” Leo Karlsson set a new club record by scoring a hat-trick in the NHL regular season match against Philadelphia (3:6).
At 18 years and 319 days old, Karlsson, the second overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft behind Connor Bedard, recorded the youngest hat trick in Ducks history.
The Swede also became the 19th player in NHL history to score three times in a game while under the age of 19.
Anaheim’s previous record holder (21 years, 51 days) was forward Sam Steele, who scored three times against Dallas in the 2018-19 season.
It took Karlsson 9 matches to score his first career hat-trick. In total this season, he has 7 (6+1) points.
