Severstal forward Podshivalov was disqualified for two KHL matches for hitting an opponent with his stick

Cherepovets striker Severstal Ivan Podchivalov disqualified for two matches of the regular season of the Fonbet KHL Championship, reports the press service of the league.

On Friday, Severstal lost to Vityaz near Moscow with a score of 3:5. In the third period, Podshivalov hit home defenseman Jeremy Roy in the face with his stick, received a five-minute penalty and was ejected for the remainder of the game.

— Based on the documents presented, it was decided to leave the sanction imposed on Podshivalov under clause 1.15.2 unchanged. Article 28 of the KHL disciplinary regulations (“Hitting with a stick”) disqualifies him for two matches and subjects him to a fine,” the message said.

This season, Podshivalov has scored four points (2 goals and 2 assists) in 21 games.

Severstal is in seventh place in the KHL Western Conference standings, with 30 points in 27 matches.
