Athletistic/Hockey. Former head coach of the Russian national hockey team Vladimir Krikunov is convinced that Russian striker Evgeni Malkin does not need to move to one of the clubs of the Continental Hockey League (KHL).

“I think Malkin doesn’t need to go back to the KHL, he will always play in the NHL. He has the strength and the opportunities for that, the question is different, that he played his whole life in Pittsburgh and now if he changes the team, it won’t be at all, even if in the NHL it’s normal.” Noted Krikunov, adding that Malkin he believes will find an NHL team even if he disagrees with Pittsburgh.

Evgeni Malkin has been with the Pittsburgh Penguins since 2006. At the end of June 2022, the forward’s contract with the club ended and he still hasn’t agreed on a new deal. The parties are reported to be unable to agree on the hockey player’s salary.
