Athletistic/Hockey. Two-time Olympic hockey champion Vyacheslav Fetisov has expressed his opinion on the activities of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), saying that the organization is rapidly deteriorating.
Fetisov stressed that he considered the complete degradation of the IOC unacceptable. He expressed disappointment with the organization, which he said violates many of the principles on which it was founded. Fetisov also expressed hope for a change in the IOC leadership and said they had burned all bridges by violating the Olympic Charter.
Responding to the question of why the NHL did not give in to pressure like the IOC did, Fetisov noted that there was no pressure on the NHL. According to him, NHL President Gary Bettman is an exceptional leader who does not give in to pressure and does not make bad decisions. Fetisov emphasized that respect for sporting principles is present not only in the NHL, but also in other areas of sports, such as tennis.
