Athletistic/Hockey. In an interview with an SE correspondent, two-time Olympic champion Vyacheslav Fetisov expressed his reaction to the IOC’s recommendation to national Olympic committees to refuse to participate in the World Friendship Games in Russia.

“This is nothing new. The IOC will take all possible measures to ensure that the competitions do not take place in Russia. Such statements no longer surprise me, but rather frighten me. Such statements were predictable, and now it is interesting to see how the countries we invited, ” Fetisov noted in a conversation with SE.

The first World Friendship Games are planned for 2024 and are expected to be held in Moscow and Yekaterinburg. On November 13, IOC President Thomas Bach said that countries that decide to host “political” international tournaments deprive international sports federations of this right and put international sport at risk.
