The Russian attackerVancouver Canucks » Andrey Kuzmenko was injured during a National Hockey League (NHL) regular season game against the New York Islanders.
The meeting took place on Wednesday in Vancouver and ended with a victory for the home team in overtime – 4:3. Kuzmenko scored an assist in the second period. In the third period, the puck, after a shot by Vancouver forward JT Miller, hit Kuzmenko in the face. The Russian left the ice.
During the post-game press conference, Canucks head coach Rick Tocquette said he had not seen Kuzmenko yet, but would likely go to the hospital for an examination .
Later, the 27-year-old hockey player wrote on social networks that everything was fine with him.
– Thank you all for your support, everything is fine. Big victory! — wrote Kuzmenko.
Vancouver scored 25 points and moved into first place in the Western Conference standings, while the Islanders ranked 14th in the East with 14 points.
