Attack “Spartacus” Nikolai Goldobin will go down in club history if he manages to score 50 goals in one season, former Red and White striker Yegor Mikhailov told .
On Saturday, Spartak defeated Lada in the home match of the KHL regular season – 5:3. Goldobin scored his 23rd and 24th goals this season and set a new Spartak record for the most goals in a KHL regular season. Additionally, the 28-year-old forward, traded from Metallurg Magnitogorsk this summer, leads the league’s scoring list with 49 points (24+25).
— Goldobin is on fire in the KHL.
— He is a talented hockey player, he was already very popular in his youth. And today Nikolai shows his high level of skill. Maybe we were a little tired of such play from him (laughs). An important fact is that (head coach) Alexei Zhamnov managed to create a productive trio Goldobin – Morozov – Poryadin. They complement each other perfectly.
– Goldobin has already set a goalscoring record for Spartak. Are you able to earn fifty dollars?
— It is better to ask Nikolai about his goals. The striker should score a lot, may he continue in the same spirit. And if we manage to reach the 50-goal mark, Goldobin is unlikely to be against it (laughs). With such numbers, he will definitely go down in the history of Spartak,” Mikhailov told .
The Red and White have scored 49 points in 33 games and occupy first place in the Western Conference.
