Athletistic/Hockey. The Pittsburgh Penguins have announced a contract with Russian defenseman Dmitry Samorukov. The agreement with the 24-year-old hockey player is bilateral in nature and is valid until the end of the current season.

According to the Penguins press service, Samorukov’s salary at the NHL level will be $775,000, but if he plays in the AHL, he will receive $250,000.

Samorukov started this season in the AHL, playing for Pittsburgh farm club Wilkes-Barry. In 15 matches, he scored 5 (1+4) points using the goal+pass system. In total, he has three NHL games – two with the St. Louis Blues and one with the Edmonton Oilers.

In the 2020/2021 season, Dmitry played in the KHL for CSKA Moscow. In 48 matches, he scored 8 (2+6) performance points.

Pittsburgh has scored 18 points in 17 games and is in 10th place in the NHL Eastern Conference standings.
