Pittsburgh Penguins signed a one-year contract with the Russian defender Dmitry Samorukov reports the press service of the National Hockey League (NHL) club.
The agreement with the 24-year-old Russian is bilateral in nature, the hockey player’s salary will amount to $775,000.
This season, Samorukov played 15 games for Wilkes-Barry/Scranton, Pittsburgh’s affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). The Russian scored 5 (1+4) points. In total, the 24-year-old defender has played 3 games in the NHL without scoring.
Samorukov was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the third round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, 84th overall. The defender graduated from CSKA.
Pittsburgh is in 10th place in the Eastern Conference standings. NHL scoring 18 points
