Former striker “New Jersey » Russian Sergei Brylin will be inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame on January 20 before the game against Dallas, the team’s press service reports.
Brylin will become the second member of the Devils’ Ring of Honor, joining original franchise owner John McMullen.
— We are honored to name Sergei Brylin the second Ring of Honor member in club history. “He knew what it took to win a championship, what it meant for New Jersey and how it forever connected him with our wonderful fans,” the team’s press service quoted the managing partner of the Devils, David Blitzer.
Since the 2012/13 season, the 49-year-old Russian specialist has held the positions of assistant coach and junior coach in the farm clubs of the Devils of the American Hockey League (AHL) – in Albany, Binghamton and Utica, and in August 2022. The following year, he became an assistant to New Jersey head coach Lindy Ruff.
Brylin is a three-time Stanley Cup winner; he played for New Jersey from 1994 to 2008. In total, Brylin played 765 games with the Devils in the regular season, in which he scored 308 points (129 goals + 179 assists).
