Athletistic/Hockey. Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevsky shared his emotions about returning to action after a back injury. Last night, the 29-year-old Russian helped the Lightning defeat the visiting Carolina Hurricanes with a score of 8:2.
“The guys in front of me played amazing, they blocked a lot of shots today. Obviously their support was amazing. For the first game back, everything went perfectly! We didn’t spend a lot of time in our zone. It’s just great work by the whole team.” Vasilevsky is quoted by the Washington Post.
Andrei Vasilevsky blocked 22 of 24 shots against his own goal in the game against Carolina. At the end of September he underwent back surgery and only last week he returned to training with the general group.
Note that in the match against “Carolina”, Russian striker “Tampa” Nikita Kucherov scored 6 (2+4) points using the “goal+pass” system.
