“Young Ovechkin is a ball of energy: his power, the way he entered the game, what shot he made, the way his eyes shined. It’s everything that makes him a unique athlete.
I hope he catches up with Gretzky,” Kozlov said according to Sport-Express.
This NHL season, Alexander Ovechkin played 17 games and scored 12 (5+7) points using the goal+pass system. In total, he scored 827 goals in the overseas league and is now the second sniper in NHL history. Only the Canadian Wayne Gretzky (894) is ahead of him.
Viktor Kozlov played for the Washington Capitals from 2007 to 2009. After his contract with the Capital ended, he returned to Russia.
