The Russian attackerNew York Rangers » Artemy Panarin is at the top of the list of candidates for the Hart Trophy, awarded to the most valuable player of the regular season of the National Hockey League (NHL), after one quarter of the season, according to the NHL website.
The Hart Trophy has been awarded since 1924 and the winner is determined by vote of representatives of the NHL Journalists’ Association.
As noted, according to the results of the intermediate vote, Panarin received 46 points. Second place is occupied by Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak (42), and Vancouver Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes (39) completes the top three. Russian Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov (26) took fifth place.
This season, Panarin, 32, scored 30 points (11 goals and 19 assists) in 20 regular season games.
