Athletistic/Hockey. The Calgary Flames have announced the trade of defenseman Nikita Zadorov. The 28-year-old Russian will now defend the colors of the Vancouver Canucks.
In exchange for the rights to Zadorov, Calgary received a third-round pick in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft, as well as a fifth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. Interestingly, Vancouver initially received the latter pick in the Chicago Blackhawks draft.
At the end of this season, Zadorov could become an unrestricted free agent. Over 10 years of playing in the NHL, Nikita played 588 games and scored 132 (42+90) points with a utility coefficient of “+12”.
Note that Vancouver now occupies second place in the Western Conference standings, and Calgary is only 11th in the West.
