Russian forward for the Hershey Bears Ivan Miroshnichenko scored a goal and an assist in the second straight American Hockey League (AHL) game.
In the match against Charlotte (4:2), the 19-year-old Russian scored himself and assisted his partner Pierrick Dubé. For Miroshnichenko, who is in the Washington system, the match was the second in a row, where he scored 2 points – earlier he also scored 1+1 in a meeting with Wilkes-Barry (7:5).
In total, Miroshnichenko has 13 (6+7) points for his performance in 20 matches this season. Hershey’s win over Charlotte was the team’s eighth straight in the league, and they confidently lead the AHL standings.
Miroshnichenko, drafted by Washington in 2022 under number 20, played in the Avangard system in Russia. He had previously been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a cancer that affects lymphocytes and destroys the immune system. After treatment, the hockey player returned to sports.
