Athletistic/Hockey. Last night, the Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Ottawa Senators (4:2) in another NHL regular season game. During the game, Russian Jackets forward Yegor Chinakhov became the instigator of a massive brawl.
In one of the episodes at the beginning of the third period, Chinakhov hit the legs of Ottawa’s German forward Tim Stützle with his stick. Travis Hamonic and Erik Brennström tried to defend their teammate, but two Russian players from Columbus, Dmitry Voronkov and Kirill Marchenko, came to Chinakhov’s defense.
As a result, Voronkov threw his opponent onto the ice, and then lost his helmet in the fight. The judges gave Chinakhov a 2 minute penalty for this episode. The other participants in the fight went unpunished.
Egor Chinakhov played 14 games this season in the NHL and scored 5 points for his performance – he scored three goals and had two assists.
