Athletistic/Hockey. Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson, after scoring a hat-trick in the match against the Anaheim Ducks (5:4), spoke about the captain of the Capital, Alexander Ovechkin. The 38-year-old Russian provided assists on two of the Canadian’s three goals.
“Ovechkin is a huge offensive threat. If you get to the net, you will have opportunities and you will most likely find a way to put the puck in the net. Everything went according to plan against Anaheim. Our special teams played well amazing today, both “We have to win, it’s a good start to a long journey. We must continue in the same spirit,” Wilson was quoted as saying by the Washington press service.
The match in Anaheim (California, USA) was Wilson’s 700th as part of Washington. But he scored a hat-trick for the first time in the NHL. In 700 games, Tom scored 307 (135+172) points using the goal+pass system. In 2018, he helped the Capitals win the Stanley Cup for the first time in their history.
