Columbus’ Russian striker Egor Chinakhov became the instigator of a brawl during the NHL regular season game against Ottawa.
In one of the episodes of the match, Chinakhov hit the legs of Senators forward Tim Stuetzle with his stick. Travis Hamonic and Erik Brennström tried to intervene on his behalf, but two other Russian players from the Blue Jackets, Dmitry Voronkov and Kirill Marchenko, immediately intervened in the confrontation.
Eventually Voronkov threw his opponent onto the ice, then lost his helmet in the struggle. Chinakhov received a 2-minute penalty during the episode.
The match ended with a score of 4:2 in favor of Columbus. Voronkov scored a goal, which was his 5th this season.
