Three Russians were selected in the first round of the repechage. Defenseman Pavel Mintyukov (#10) entered the Anaheim Ducks, forward Ivan Miroshnichenko (#20) – in the Washington Capitals, forward Danila Yurov (#24) – in the Wild du Minnesota.

Mintyukov became the sixth Russian defender in history to be selected in the top 10 of the draft.
