Team East forward at the WHL All-Star Game Olga Sosina told that she misses international matches.
The Eastern team defeated the Western team with a score of 5:4 in the all-star match of the Women’s Hockey League, which took place in Tula.

— What can you say about this WHL championship?
“It has become even more interesting than before.” I would of course like to have more teams – there are eight so far. But look at the matches, even how my club “Agidel” plays. We also stumble sometimes. And every opponent is ready to fight, showing a good game. There is unpredictability at a high level.
— You are for women’s hockey as Alexander Ovechkin is for men’s hockey.
– No no! And I scored fewer goals than Anna Shokhina. Ovechkin is more like her. And I have more assists than goals.
– Okay, you are like Evgeni Malkin. But tell me, have you been invited to the women’s NHL? How do they play there?
– I do not know yet. I’m waiting for their season to start so I can watch it. I haven’t seen the news of their launch. But it’s very interesting to watch. There are equal teams and there will be interesting matches.
I hadn’t even thought about playing in the NHL. How is it done there? You submit an application and you will either be selected in the project or not. But I want to play in Russia and help improve our hockey.
— Do you miss international matches?
– We really miss you. But I worry more about young girls. The age is correct, but they haven’t even competed in the junior world championships. It would be nice if only the adult team was dropped. But they would let the under-18s play! The children are not responsible for anything,” Sosina told .
The IIHF suspended Russian teams from participation in competitions under its auspices at the end of February 2022.
Anna Shokhina scored 540 (235+305) points in 265 WHL games during her career. This is the best result in the history of the league.
