The 30-year-old forward scored an assist in the match against Dallas. So, to reach the 40-point mark, Kucherov needed 24 matches this season. The Russian also achieved this figure, first among all hockey players in the league in the current championship, leading the scorer race (15 goals + 25 assists).
Kucherov surpassed the club feat of Canadian forward Steven Stamkos, who scored 40 points for Tampa in the 2010-2011 season in 25 games.
Over the past 20 years, the best result was posted by Edmonton forward Leon Draisaitl, who scored 40 points in 19 games in the 2021/22 season.
