Athletistic/Hockey. On December 5 (Moscow time), the Washington Capitals in an away match of the NHL regular season could not cope with the attack of the Arizona Coyotes. The Capitals were defeated by the Coyotes with a score of 0:6.
This defeat is the biggest for Washington since October 2018. Then the current Stanley Cup champion lost to the New Jersey Devils with exactly the same score – 0:6.
Note that Washington suffered a second consecutive defeat. In the last meeting, Spencer Carbery’s team lost to the Vegas Golden Knights (1:4). Now the capital’s 26 points occupy ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings.
It is worth noting that Washington captain Alexander Ovechkin has not scored a goal for seven consecutive matches. In 22 matches this season, the 38-year-old Russian has only managed to score 14 (5+9) points thanks to the goal+pass system.
