It should be noted that both goals of the “bluesmen” were scored by Russian hockey players: 31 seconds before the end of the first period, striker Alexey Toropchenko opened the scoring, and Pavel Buchnevich scored the decisive goal at the 38th second of overtime. As the reigning Stanley Cup champion, Jack Eichel scored the only accurate shot.
After this victory, Saint-Louis moved into the top eight in the cup. The Bluesmen have scored 27 points in 24 matches and are in eighth place in the Western Conference standings. Vegas leads the West with 37 points after 26 games.
