NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said the league’s salary cap is expected to be $87.7 million next season.
This season, the salary cap is $83.5 million. So the league is looking at a $4.2 million increase in the cap, something that hasn’t happened in five years when the team payroll cap went from $75 million to $79.5 million during the 2018 offseason.
“I think most people will consider this good news,” Bettman is quoted on the NHL website.
In addition, the NHL boss said that expected revenues for the 2024/25 season will amount to around $6.2 billion.
