Defender for several KHL clubs Nikita Shchitov reacted to the departure of the Canadian striker Jean-Sébastien Dee of Metallurgy.
The Magnitogorsk club terminated the contract with the hockey player by mutual agreement.
“Many were skeptical about this transition. Dee was incapable of proving herself; they counted on him as their leader. Apparently, before the deadline it was easier for the club to get rid of him. There are probably higher quality foreign players ahead. Foreign players coming to the KHL should be head and shoulders above our guys. They must be the leaders of their teams,” Shchitov told RB Sport.
The 29-year-old Canadian played 18 regular season games this season, scoring 6 (3+3) points.
