“I was one of the first to draw attention to Shabanov and say that he had prospects. After that, they started putting him in the lineup and he opened up. But I think it’s too early for him to go to the NHL. He hasn’t become a stable player yet. He plays well in some games, but there are also unsuccessful games. He is not ready nor physically nor psychologically. He is undoubtedly one of the leaders of Traktor, but overall he has not shown anything in the KHL,” Balandin told RB Sport.
This season, Shabanov played 39 matches with Traktor and collected 31 points.
